Volunteer Spotlight: Krisi

Tell us a little bit about yourself

Hey there, I’m Krisi! My background is originally in Psychology, but now I’m studying abroad and pursuing a Master’s degree in Sustainability. I’m passionate about making meaningful change at the intersection of human behaviour and climate action. I also love travelling, running and making jewellery, specifically wire rings with gemstones and crystals!

Why did you choose to volunteer with A Good Thing?

I chose to volunteer with A Good Thing because I was immediately drawn to the simplicity and power of the concept! The idea and value of reuse is timeless, and seeing it scaled up in such an impactful way was genuinely inspiring. Volunteering with A Good Thing has meant that I can contribute positively and give back to the local community.

What’s your role as part of the volunteering programme?

As a volunteer, I write blog posts for our ‘Impact’ page, highlighting the success stories that come from the matches between businesses and charities. My role involves showcasing how simple acts of giving can make a meaningful difference to charities and the people they serve. It’s incredibly rewarding to help tell these stories and shine a light on the positive ripple effects that A Good Thing creates.

What do you hope to learn from your volunteering experience?

Through writing impact stories, I also want to improve my storytelling and communication skills, especially in the context of sustainability and the charity sector. Most of all, I’m excited to learn from the A Good Thing community and see how collaboration can drive positive social and environmental impact.
