It's easy and completely free
Sign up using the app, and you'll be notified as soon as a nearby business has something to offer. Once you see something you need, make a request. Once a match is made, the app makes it easy to coordinate with the business.
All you'll need to do is collect what's on offer, and put it to good use!
While you're waiting for an offer to pop up nearby, go into the 'Needs' tab in your account and let local businesses know what your charity is actually looking for.
Charities need as much help as possible – especially at the moment, when fundraising opportunities are limited. For me it just feels wrong spending public donations on items for the team's HQ, when our primary aim is saving lives. But the HQ renovation helps us achieve operational readiness quicker, and keeps the morale of the team up.
Tell businesses what you need
You don't have to wait for the right offer to appear. Post a charity need — a plain description of something your charity is looking for — and local businesses can see it and get in touch.
It works for the ordinary things as much as the big ones: a dozen mugs for a community room, a laptop for a new caseworker, a van for one Saturday. Needs sit alongside live offers in the app, and you can add one as soon as you have signed up.
Who can sign up
You'll need HMRC charity tax status, or to be registered with the Charity Commission, the Scottish Charity Regulator or the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland — or to be a Community Interest Company or Community Benefit Society.
