Emmaus Colchester is looking for furniture, clothing, and electrical items

The Charity: 

Emmaus Colchester is one of 29 such communities across the UK, providing a home and meaningful work for ~30 individuals – known as companions - who have experienced homelessness and social exclusion.

With no limit on how long people can stay with Emmaus Colchester, the charity allows its companions to rebuild their lives and reconnect with loved ones.

The Project:

All of Emmaus Colchester’s companions work in its social enterprises, which include two second-hand shops and a house-clearing business. The revenue from these social enterprises is then used to financially support the companions in providing a home, meals, well-being support, and a weekly allowance.

The Ask:

Emmaus Colchester needs items that can help low-income families move into unfurnished accommodation, as well as goods that can be sold in its second-hand shops – namely:

• Furniture, including beds

• Clothing

• Electrical items
