Getting ready for launch
We are so excited to be getting near to the next phase of the development of A Good Thing.
Following several successful donations by SquaredUp to Home-Start Slough over the past 18 months, in addition to many months of talking to charities and businesses to get their take on our plans and ideas, we have now built our website and launched our survey.
We think it’s so important to get as much information as we can about how charities and businesses think they’ll use A Good Thing, what they’d like the platform to be able to do, and what ideas they have for improving the concept. We’re hoping that as many people as possible will take the survey over the next month or so, ready for us to launch our pilot early in 2021.
The first few matches that are made on the site will be a thrilling moment for us. We expect the people involved to be mainly in the Thames Valley area, to begin with: that’s where we currently are and where our network of contacts is at the moment. But we anticipate that people working in our local area may be inspired by the idea of A Good Thing and may choose to share the link with friends or colleagues working in other parts of the country – which we would be delighted with. If we’re lucky, we may end up with pockets of activity kicking off in other parts of the country. And we hope that word will then spread quickly – we think the idea of A Good Thing is a bit of a ‘win win’, and that lots of organisations will want to get involved when they realise how simple it is.
So, we’re looking forward to the survey results flooding in over the next few weeks, and then to making the matchmaking platform live and inviting all of our participants to sign up and start doing a good thing!
