Greetings cards and stationery are needed for a letter-writing service supporting vulnerable women
SATEDA, a domestic abuse service for women and children based in Swale and Medway, has been running a successful letter-writing service supporting women in prison who have experienced domestic abuse. The project currently connects with 250 women a month: volunteers share notes of hope and support, to let the women know they’re not alone.
During holidays and across periods like Christmas, New Year and Easter, the number of women reached can increase to between 750 and 1,000. SATEDA wants to support its volunteers by supplying them with cards and stationery on which they can handwrite their letters.
SATEDA’s vision is to end domestic abuse: it empowers and enables women to break the cycle and take back control through a specialised and full journey of support, advocacy and education.
SATEDA is doing amazing work:
It supported 426 women in 2020/21.
98% of the abuse cases ceased or reduced after working with SATEDA.
98% of women said they were more able to cope following support from the SATEDA team.
Can you support this wonderful team with its mission?
Do you have any old, out-of-season or surplus stocks of cards that you would be able to donate? It would be an amazing boost to this project, supporting both the volunteers and the vulnerable women receiving the cards.
