Hundreds of items generously donated to three charities in need

By donating old stock, Allwag Promotions have enabled charities to support people experiencing homelessness, raise funds for a hospice, and provide notebooks to teenagers to promote learning.

Allwag Promotions- one of A Good Thing’s supporters

Allwag Promotions has been delivering merchandise solutions for over 25 years. At the core of their organisation is their commitment to conducting business in a sustainable, ethical, and environmentally responsible manner. After becoming a Certified B Corp last year, the business has continued to implement their sustainability policy into their daily activities.

Nina, Marketing Manager at Allwag, explained that ‘sustainability is one of the most important things for our business’. Not wanting to send old stock to landfill, Team Allwag were inspired to donate through A Good Thing and their donations have been matched with three local charities so far.

Pens and bags find a new home

Chess Homeless is a charity working to ensure that people who find themselves homeless are supported to enable them to move forward purposefully and in good health. During the winter months the Chess Homeless team give out winter warmer packs to rough sleepers. These care packages contain snacks, a thermal blanket, socks, hat, gloves and other essentials. Normally the team give these out in a plastic carrier bag so Allwag’s donation of 25 colourful shopping bags has provided a sustainable alternative for the charity.

In addition to the shopping bags, Allwag also donated hundreds of pens which prevented the charity from having to buy new ones saving them money.

New notebooks to support learning

Another recipient of the donations was Women of Grace. Women of Grace is a survivor led organisation that advocates against the practice of Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting (FGM/C) and all forms of Gender-Based Violence. The charity educates communities about the lasting consequences and harms of FGM/C and abuse through workshops, talks, and peer support. The team at Women of Grace said that the donation of notebooks will be given to teenagers to support their learning during the community workshops.

Aluminium water bottles help raise funds

The final charity which received help from Allwag’s donation was St Luke’s Hospice. St Luke’s is a charity providing specialist end of life and palliative care to enable people to achieve the best possible quality of life. The aluminium water bottles that were received will be sold to raise funds for this important cause.

Thank you to Allwag Promotions for using A Good Thing to reduce landfill waste and help local charities.
