Promotional merchandise donation supports Chelmsford charities

Allwag Promotions is dedicated to conducting its business sustainably, and its recent donation of old products has helped multiple local charities.

Commitment to sustainability

The merchandise and apparel market can produce large amounts of waste through excess stock, incorrect prints, or samples that end up in landfill. Allwag Promotions refuses to let that be the case for their merchandise business. Nina, Marketing Manager at Allwag, was clear that Allwag do not send surplus products to landfill. Excess stock is minimised from the outset as the business does not hold the full inventory listed on their website. The Allwag team clearly takes their sustainability policies seriously; when sending a quote to their clients, the team makes sure to include sustainable product alternatives and encourages clients to go for these options. Nina explains that they are also constantly on the lookout for the most sustainable merchandise options. In their second round of donations via the A Good Thing platform, Allwag Promotions have generously donated over 100 items, which have helped four Chelmsford charities in need.

A donation of notebooks for charity and community

Leigh on Sea Lions Club was delighted when they saw Allwag’s offer of 50 A5 hardbound lined notebooks. Not only will the club be able to use them when planning and arranging events, but they will also be able to re-sell the notebooks on their charity stall to raise funds for local causes.

Sharing warmth with vulnerable families

The cost of living has affected families nationwide – 1 in 3 children in the UK are now living in poverty. The Little Edi Foundation is a non-profit organisation that focuses on creating development opportunities for disadvantaged young people. The organisation gives fresh food, toys, school equipment and uniforms to families in need as well as organising events for young people. The Little Edi Foundation were grateful to receive 25 thermal cups, which will help some of the 75 vulnerable families they support.

New homes

Another charity that was grateful for Allwag’s donation was Chess Homeless. Chess Homeless is a charity working to ensure that people who find themselves homeless are supported in ways that enable them to move forward. Chess Homeless has 11 properties which provide 65 beds to people who are homeless. They provide crockery in all the houses for residents to use and also provide crockery for people when they move to their own property. It is great to see 15 earthenware mugs being donated to help people settle into their new homes.

Fourth charity helped

Finally, Stow Maries Great War Aerodrome received a donation of aluminium drinks bottles and colour-your-own pencil cases. Stow Maries is a World War 1 military aviation museum based at an aerodrome. As the only known World War One aerodrome to survive largely intact, the team enjoy providing educational visits for children and adults.

Supporting Chelmsford and beyond

It is great to see Allwag Promotion’s donation helping various charities and communities across Chelmsford. The donation shows the amazing impact businesses can have by redistributing unwanted or unused items.
