Matchmaking milestone hit with Let’s Sanitise

Let’s Sanitise, a fellow 1% for the Planet member and a business with philanthropy at its heart, recently signed up to A Good Thing: the business wanted to begin making generous monthly offers in order to reach as many charities as possible.

Philanthropy at its heart

The team behind Megabooth, a successful UK events company, wanted to protect its staff when the pandemic hit in 2020. Megabooth opened up its premises to help the WE C U charity, which supplies care packages to NHS and social care staff, and the business had a lightbulb moment. After several Zoom meetings discussing how to utilise their existing suppliers and customer base, they dreamt up the idea of supplying sanitiser stations to help businesses reopen safely. From day one, Let’s Sanitise has been committed to its ‘You Buy, We Donate’ mission: the partnership with A Good Thing has enabled them to connect with more charities than ever before.

We met online

Looking to extend the network of charities she was working with, Let’s Santise’s Digital Marketing Executive, Anya Lakin, came across A Good Thing in the 1% for the Planet directory:

‘We have set up several schemes where we’re donating profits to charities and good causes, but we wanted to continue to develop our donations of products. That’s when we came across A Good Thing in the directory and reached out.’

Following a quick conversation via Twitter DMs, an account was set up for Let’s Santise and seven fantastic offers were listed: these included a range of products from mini sanitiser kits to 5-litre handwash refills.

‘I found the platform really easy to use. It’s straightforward and easy to figure out.’ Anya Lakin, Let’s Sanitise

Supporting small local charities

The individual offers were instantly popular, with each having up to six requests! Let’s Sanitise chose to donate the offers to charities that were working closely with members of their local community: local Brownie groups, heart disease charity Cardiomyopathy, community group Response Project, Homestart Kernow, Community First, Lifted a charity working with parents and carers of children and adults with special learning needs and a community-run daycare centre, The Princes Centre.

‘It just smells amazing! We received 12 bottles, which we have distributed across the centre for easy access. When we’re working with people and supporting them, we’re often holding hands, so regular sanitising is required. This offer has saved us a huge amount of money. Thank you to Let’s Sanitise and A Good Thing.’ Kim Challinor, Manager, The Princes Centre

Just the beginning

The offers made by Let’s Sanitise marked a record-breaking week for A Good Thing, with seven offers being listed, requested and delivered nationwide within seven days… and there’s more to come! The offers mark the start of a new partnership with A Good Thing.
