iPads sought for Say Aphasia’s support groups across England and Wales
The Charity:
Aphasia is a communication disability that results from an injury to the brain, which can make it difficult to follow what is being said, to read, to put thoughts into spoken and written words, and to have problems with numbers.
Say Aphasia exists to make everyday life become more accessible for those living with aphasia, raising awareness of the condition and helping individuals adjust to communicating in a new way.
The Project:
Providing peer-led, long-term support groups to those living with aphasia, Say Aphasia is looking to add therapy and communication apps to its offering, alongside giving its peer leaders an accessible format to take notes during meetings.
The Ask:
Say Aphasia is looking for iPads to enhance the work of its support groups across England and Wales. The charity has support groups in Abergavenny, Bournemouth, Burgess Hill, Cardiff, Chichester, Crawley, Darlington, Eastbourne, Exeter, Hove, Selsey, Skipton, Winchester and Southampton, Woodingdean, and Worthing.
