Scottish multi-bank project, The Big Hoose, needs household products, cleaning materials, toiletries, nappies, toilet roll, and stationery

The Charity:

Set up by The Cottage Family Centre and Amazon UK, in cooperation with the former UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown, The Big Hoose links companies who have excess stock with families who need their products.

Dubbed a ‘multi-bank’ because of the wide range of goods that are distributed through the project, The Big Hoose is based in Lochgelly and has outreach to Edinburgh, Dundee, and Perth.

The Project:

Over 1 million surplus products were donated by Amazon and ~30 other local and multinational businesses in the first 18 months of the project. The Big Hoose is looking to continue its work and utilise its network of over 820 charity partners to provide vulnerable children and families with the products they need.

The Ask:

  • Household products

  • Cleaning materials

  • Toiletries

  • Nappies

  • Toilet roll

  • Stationery
