Emmaus Oxford is in need of washing machines and fridges to create a homely environment for its companions

An amazing charity working to alleviate homelessness and poverty in Oxford is looking for white goods to furnish the homes of formerly homeless people.

The Charity: 

Emmaus Oxford provides a home for individuals who have experienced homelessness for as long as it's needed. Alongside providing accommodation, the charity supports its residents, known as companions, to return to stable employment by giving them opportunities to engage in meaningful work within the charity’s social enterprises. 

The charity’s unique model involves companions working in the Emmaus Oxford store. Members of the public are able to meet and engage with beneficiaries, giving them first-hand experience of the difference their purchases are making to local people within the community. By providing companions with the opportunity to work, and by granting guaranteed accommodation, the charity enables individuals to regain lost self-esteem and gives them the confidence needed to get back on their feet.
