Office refit results in the donation of much-needed furniture and flooring to a brilliant Buckinghamshire charity

The Oasis Partnership is a charity that provides high-quality social and psychological support services to improve people’s health and wellbeing. The charity is in the middle of an exciting phase, broadening its reach to deliver socially inclusive support across all of Buckinghamshire. The Oasis Partnership recently received a donation of items from The Pearce Building to furnish a lovely new community room.

A wonderful new space for a community in need

The former Bagnall Centre in Chesham has been temporarily gifted to The Oasis Partnership by Joanna Hill, one of the charity’s key benefactors. The gift has been a catalyst for the charity to embark on an ambitious project that will bring big benefits to the local area: the centre offers an amazing 6,000 square feet over three floors, with a range of rooms for different purposes. This amazing gift is accelerating the charity’s mission to make a significant positive difference to local communities.

Lights, camera, action

The new community room at the Bagnall Centre has been earmarked for use by the new film club, pictured below, but was ready for refurbishment. Having used A Good Thing before for other projects, Colin McGregor-Paterson, CEO of The Oasis Partnership, acted quickly when furnishing and flooring was offered via the app:

“Thank you, A Good Thing, you’ve done it again! Thanks for the furniture and flooring. It’s ideal for our new community room that will be used for our film club.”

Colin was delighted with the new furniture for the space, as well as the other items he has received via the A Good Thing app over the past 12 months:

“A Good Thing gives us access to things that we wouldn’t usually be able to afford. We need over £300,000 just to cover the basics of the refurbishment. These items are in great condition and will make the space feel more cosy and welcoming.”

So easy to use!

Charlie, from the Reception Team at The Pearce Building in Maidenhead, acted on behalf of an office refit company that was working inside the building. She logged on and listed various items on their behalf, and found the platform incredibly easy to use. Once her account was registered, it was only a few minutes before the first offer was live, and she told us happily:

“It’s been SUCH an easy process so far, it really needs to be known about by everyone!”

Supporting a whole project

The team at A Good Thing love to see charities being able to make multiple requests and using the app to support a whole project. We welcome charities from all across the UK to sign up and start making requests. Check out our current list of offers.
