Multi-bank initiative Brick by Brick needs clothing, stationery, toys, plates, pots and pans, nappies and baby wipes, and sanitary products

Brick by Brick is an extension of the multi-bank model first launched in Fife, Scotland.

The Charity:

An anti-poverty charity based in Wigan, The Brick leads the Brick by Brick multi-bank initiative.

Launched with the support of Amazon, former Prime Minister Gordon Brown, and Mayor of Greater Manchester Andy Burnham, The Brick receives goods from companies who have surplus stock and coordinates with other local charities to distribute these products to those in need of them.

The Project:

Since the initiative was established over 18 months ago, some 850,000 items have been distributed in Wigan and the surrounding areas. To continue helping individuals and families struggling in the cost-of-living crisis, The Brick is currently in need of various goods.

The Ask:

  • Clothing – both for adults and children

  • Stationery

  • Toys

  • Plates, pots, and pans

  • Nappies

  • Baby wipes

  • Women’s hygiene products – tampons

  • Washing capsules for clothing
