West London firm generously donates large furniture bundle to fantastic local community space

During my first week, I have been delighted to meet businesses and charities that had made a match on A Good Thing. It was great to hear from Sheraine Williams, Interim CEO at Response Community Projects, and learn about the furniture the charity recently received from a London-based marketing agency.

Following the pandemic, ADM Group decided to change the way they work. Gone were the divided individual workspaces with separate boardrooms – in came a new collaborative open-plan office space. This left ADM looking for a new home for a large bundle of office furniture including tables, chairs, cabinets and PC monitors.

Creating new spaces to connect

Sheraine, who joined Response Community Projects as CEO in September 2021, explained that the charity has been in operation since the 1970s and has evolved to meet the needs of the local community. As we begin to move out of the pandemic, Response needed to rejuvenate its space to create a bright, vibrant, fully accessible meeting hub.

‘Space is really, really important. It needs to be functional and inviting. Our environment needed an uplift!’ Sheraine, Response Community Projects

So simple to use and connect

Brittany from ADM and Sheraine both commented on how effortless it is to sign up for A Good Thing, create a post and then search for items required.

‘It was really easy to register the business and with a little support from the team it was easy to list our big bundle of office furniture.’ Brittany, ADM

Making a difference

Sheraine was delighted to find a bunch of varied furniture in one listing as she embarked on her rejuvenation mission. A real highlight has been a tall modern circular table, which recently caught the attention of a group of young people:

‘During half term we were able to have the children in the internet café. As soon as they saw the new table, they just jumped up to it! They didn’t want to move and were working really well together.’

A local connection in a big city

Brittany and Sheraine quickly discovered that they were local neighbours in Hammersmith, and it has been wonderful to see a relationship develop between the business and charity. Once the refurb is complete, Brittany has accepted an invitation to visit the space. She commented:

‘I am really looking forward to visiting the space to see how our furniture is being reused in a positive way and in a completely different context.’

Providing services to those in need

Response is a community-based centre that serves the needs of the community’s most vulnerable individuals, while also offering a range of classes designed to increase educational attainment and general wellbeing. The charity does amazing work with a whole range of local people, from youngsters attending a homework club after school, to older people looking to make connections within their community.

Sheraine is thrilled with the new developments at the centre and finished with a big thank you:

‘We have been able to create new functional spaces. We are really, really happy! Thank you so much, ADM Group and A Good Thing.’
