Berkshire children’s charity seeks clothes hangers to reduce the long-term effects of poverty

The charity:

First Days Children’s Charity is dedicated to reducing the long-term effects of poverty on children by equipping them with the essential items they need for their early years and at school. The charity firmly advocates that children should feel safe at home and out and about, be confident at school and enjoy their childhood.

It all started in 2013: individuals had items they no longer needed, and others desperately needed things. A decade later, the charity has helped over 10,000 children and distributed over 250 tonnes of donated goods, thanks to the generosity of donors, and the hard work of volunteers and dedicated staff.

The project:

First Days Children’s Charity empowers and restores dignity to families living with a low income or experiencing financial hardship.

The charity is currently in need of coat and trouser hangers for its uniform ‘shop’. Despite preferring natural wooden hangers, any hangers that can accommodate a size cube will be greatly appreciated.

The ask:

  • Natural wooden (ideally) children’s coathangers for babies right up to age 16.

  • Natural wooden (ideally) children’s trouser hangers for babies right up to age 16.
