A new charity based in Devon is in need of new and used iPhones

The charity:

The Life Chance Trust (lifechancetrust.org.uk) is a small and new charity, based in Newton Abbot, Devon, that works alongside 16–25-year-olds who have experienced childhood trauma and adverse childhood experiences.

The charity runs mentoring programmes through which it helps young people with anything and everything, including education, employment, wellbeing, confidence and CV-writing. The Life Chance Trust also does lots of signposting, but often it is as simple as just giving a young person someone to talk to. The charity runs life skills workshops, during which it teaches young people (in a group setting) basic life skills that they may have missed out on learning.

The project:

The charity has a number of volunteer mentors and it needs to provide them with a work phone so they are able to contact the young person they’re working with. Secondhand phones are of course completely fine, as long as they are still in working order.

The Life Chance Trust is asking specifically for iPhones: many young people don’t have the money for credit, so they often use iMessage to communicate. Vodafone has already donated a number of SIM cards to the charity, so the Life Chance Trust is just in need of the handsets.

The ask:

• iPhones – new or secondhand, as long as they’re in working order.
