Fabric and material needed for costumes at the Underground Lights Community Theatre in Coventry, a charity that aims to support adults experiencing social disadvantages

The charity:

Underground Lights Community Theatre in Coventry works with the Belgrade Theatre to run workshops for adults experiencing social disadvantages, such as mental illness and homelessness.

The charity was established in 2018 and aims to increase people’s confidence and help them to learn new things about themselves, through vibrant drama workshops and creative café sessions.

People who have struggled with mental health or homelessness are genuinely involved in the development of Underground Lights Community Theatre, and can thrive in a friendly, creative setting.

The project:

Underground Lights Community Theatre is looking for all sorts of material/fabric. The fabric will be used to create costumes for its performances. The charity will then be holding workshops where members can upcycle the material to create more costumes.
